AGBU offers scholarships to one (1) to two (2) college-bound high school seniors graduating from each of the three AGBU high schools in the United States. Applicants must be seniors with a GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) and above at any of the following three AGBU high schools within the United States: AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School in Canoga Park, CA; AGBU Alex and Marie Manoogian School in Southfield, MI; AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian High School in Pasadena, CA. Applicants must be admitted to a selective university and must be nominated for the grant by the principal and faculty of their respective high school.  This is a one-time grant, with awards ranging up to $2,000 USD.

Scholarships are awarded to graduate students of Armenian descent who clearly demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Applicants must be enrolled in full-time graduate degree programs (Master’s, Doctoral, Professional) at highly selective colleges and universities in the United States and have achieved a GPA of 3.5 and above, as measured by the American grading system. Individual grants averaging $5,000 USD are awarded annually and are available for a maximum of three (3) years of graduate study. Applicants must submit proof of their financial need in the form of an official school financial aid package. 

Performing Arts Scholarship $1,000-$5,000 USD Jan 1 May 31 Jul 31 Learn more

Scholarships are awarded annually to full-time undergraduate and graduate students of Armenian descent worldwide who are pursuing studies in the field of performing arts and enrolled in highly selective colleges and universities. Citizens of Armenia studying in Armenia are not eligible for this scholarship. However, non- Armenian citizens studying in Armenia are eligible. Applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs and have achieved a GPA of 3.5 and above. Applicants must submit examples of their artistic experience in the form of audio/visual recordings for evaluation. Individual grants typically range from $1,000 to $5,000 USD. They are awarded to students demonstrating exceptional artistic accomplishment and are available for a maximum of three (3) years.

AGBU offers scholarships to graduate students of Armenian descent worldwide (excluding citizens of Armenia studying in Armenia) who are pursuing religious studies (theology, youth ministry). Applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs at seminaries or highly selective colleges/universities worldwide with a GPA of 3.0 and above as measured by the American grading system scale. Grants of up to $5,000 USD are awarded annually, and are available for a maximum of three (3) years toward seminary/college/university education expenses.

AGBU offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students of Armenian descent (excluding citizens of Armenia studying in Armenia), pursuing study at highly selective colleges and universities outside of the United States. Applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs with a GPA of 3.2 and above, as measured by the American grading system scale. Grants of up to $3,000 USD are awarded annually, and are available for a maximum of three (3) years of college/university education expenses.

Students from outside the US who are pursuing graduate study in the US are not eligible for this scholarship; these students should apply for an AGBU US Graduate Fellowship. Similarly, students from outside the US who are pursuing study in the performing arts or religious studies are not eligible for this scholarship; these students should apply for an AGBU Performing Arts Fellowship, or AGBU Religious Studies Fellowship, respectively.

AGBU offers various categories of scholarships depending on location and field of study. Only students of Armenian descent who are enrolled in full-time degree programs for the entire academic year are eligible to apply.

Please note that AGBU Scholarship application deadlines will be strictly enforced. Applications submitted past these designated dates will not be accepted or considered. In order to submit an application, students must complete each section as instructed and upload all required documents. No exceptions will be made.

Applicants from Armenia

Applicants who are citizens of Armenia qualify for AGBU Scholarships for study outside of Armenia.  For the applicant's security, it is advised that a major portion of tuition and other expenses has already been secured through personal means, foundations, governmental and state grants, and/or the academic institution they are attending.  We impose this rule to ensure that there is a good chance the student will actually be able to study abroad. Please note, scholarships are not available to citizens of Armenia for local study in Armenia.

Past Recipients / Renewals

Students who have received a scholarship from AGBU in the past and meet the eligibility requirements specific to the scholarship category of interest may apply for renewal by creating an online account (if prior to 2012) or logging into their existing account (created in 2012 and after). The system will distinguish between new and renewal applicants based on the answers provided to the questions in the Eligibility section of the application.

Students who have completed an AGBU Scholarship application online since 2012 may log in with the same credentials. Information from previous years will be available in the History section of their profile.

Please note, for students who have received financial assistance from AGBU in the past (either in the form of a grant or a loan), this history is taken into consideration and counted toward the three (3) time award limit when determining eligibility for renewal.

Short Term Education

AGBU does not offer financial assistance in the form of scholarships or travel grants to those wishing to take part in a conference, a semester abroad, non-degree program courses, research studies, or any similar short-term educational or professional experience.
